So my question is... wouldn't it be a waste of time to get like a catback? my down pipe is 2.25" and your exhaust system is really as good as your smallest pipe right? Also I want to get rid of my so called "performance" muffler, doesn't a gst muffler section bolt right up?
My down pipe isn't stock either just to get that out the way. I just dont see any restrictive bends.
nelapse said:A decent catback is like 600 bones... for some nickle and dime hp. It got me thinking. When I had my Z24 we used to go under the lift spray paint the whole exhaust black, drive it for a couple of days and put it on the lift again. where the paint stops flaking off you make a cut, then bolt the muffler there. The rest of the piping doesnt do anything because the air is along for the ride. I was thinking about doing that to my gs. I also did not know the ID is only 2inches...
I was interested in a highflow cat they are realtively cheap on ebay, but I did not want to lose too much torque due to backpressure.. what is your take on this?
I just went out and measured my AWD downpipe, 2" I/D, I posted I/D and O/D so that there is no guessing or "I think". I want to build a 2.5" catback for my N/T laser and replace the flex-section while I'm at it, I want to know how much of a difference there will be in loudness, performance, and fitting and knowing the exact size of my exhaust will help me out, and I am curious as to what the I/D of the 2g's are as well. I found a 2.25" flex pipe and I wanted to know if it will fit my N/T, by the way, why do some awd exhausts get 1.75" small? just curious.tstkl said:the downpipe on a 1g awd gets as small as 1.75 inches ID, the od is completely pointless to know
