howdy all. im a new to dsm owner but i have had mitsu 3000gt vr4's for the last 8 years.

im picking up a 90 gsx in a week and the guy told me after a rebuild on the engine it would stall out when stopping.

i was going to check

isc, vac lines, biss screw, and battery grounds.

anything else i should check?

and yes i searched the forum

thanks
Matt

Oil pressure with a actual guage, if they took out the balance shafts they may not have blocked them off see what pressure you get at idle after it's warmed up.

sounds good. i dont even think about oil pressure i always watch it since its the 6g72 tt killer.

ill also check the bov also

i also read about the ecu relearning to idle properly if the battery has been out for a long time

DSM isc sucks. I have had some that appear to work for the most part but get retarded on a regular basis. I would (1) check for boost/vac leaks (2) set BISS (3) replace isc.

Could the throw out bearing be bad? or a bend clutch fork?
or is it an auto?

the tranny was rebuilt so i doubt this it the issue

i was going to bring an isc from my 3000gt with me and change it since the isc is the same between the 2 cars.

if it fixes the issue will just order a brand new one from dsmisc.com for it

i am looking to see if i can pic up a set of manuals for it before i get the car so i can chase all the vac lines, but if there has been a vac reduction done on it migh make that a little more challenging. so im searching for if there is a vac reduction guide on here so i no what it should look like

yea read most of those today. one thing that isnt mentioned any where is do the capacitors in the ecu leak on dsm's like they do in the 3000gt's?

1st gens are known for leaking, having to replace the caps is a common problem, you problem could also be a failing alternator.

i figure im just going to yank the ecu once i get it home and send it out to eprom it and get dsm link.

i was guessing the caps would be shittastic also but couldnt pin down if it was common or chance that they went

as far as the alternator goes ill check it out. but i have a feeling the alternator is fine since the rest of the motor has been built already.
