question about GM MAFT... size?

I want to order a MAFT for my 3.5" GM MAF and I was wondering if, later on down the road I wanted to change over to a 3" GM MAF if I would also have to get a different MAFT. I was able to get a 3.5" MAF for $50, so I took it, but I'm concerned that it is too big, but I figured I might as well use it. Any information would be appriciated. thanks.

From anything that I've do/heard they should work fine. The language for the gm pcm is the same no matter the maf size.

For the 3.5" GM MAF you just change one of the settings on the MAFT. You will also need a larger coupler. Otherwise that, it works fine

Curiosity speaking, what's the advantage to going with a 3.5" GM MAS, as opposed to the 3"? A more accurate reading since the air would technically flow through the larger expansion slower, or what?

don't think there's any real advantage other than the fact that I can get one online for $100 or I can get one off my friend's transam for $50.

There is a dipswitch inside the MAFT that allows you to select the 3 inch or 3.5 inch gm mas. Some people say that there cars run better if the dip switch is on the 3.5 inch gm mas while they are running the 3 inch.

Only con i have heard about the 3.5 in blow thru is the expansion and reduction at the maf would disrupt air flow alot more.
