I have been searching and reading up on doing the emissions/egr removal. I plan on removing the charcoal canister also. My only question is that, i have read that everyone that does this is just running a hose a foot or so under the car. Now, my car has 3 inch side exit exhaust. And this hose that will be running under the car will be venting gas fumes. Is there a potential for something bad to happen? What would you guys do in this case?

Oh, car is:
1990 Laser RST
Stock-minus Megan racing 3 inch downpipe, custom 3 inch side exit exhaust.

You probably saw the fairly recent thread in which I was enlightened to the possibility of fuel slowly evaporating... bet my car still has as much now as when it last ran (could have plugged it... :hmm:).

Anyway. You have a side exit exhaust. As long as it's going out toward the driver side, there's no way there would be any problem. Since the hose you're thinking of plumbing under the car will be on the passenger side.

Sorry i didn't put this, the exhaust exits the passenger side. It exits right behind the door. That is why i am concerned.

Is the exhaust tip angled back to any noticeable degree? If so, you should still be safe. But if it's straight out the side... ehh... it's a little iffy.

This is what it looks like.

Would be easier to tell from a straight on shot, but it looks like there's a bend there at the tip. I'm going to say you'll be fine with the hose tucked behind the right front suspension.

So i got it all back together and now at idle the vacuum reading is fine, but my wideband is reading really lean. It was in the 17's. Is that normal? I cant remember what it would run at idle before. When i would just tap the gas it would richen out pretty good. Just at idle its leaned out pretty good.

I went off the Taboo diagram except for how they had the MBC hooked up. I am gonna go out and recheck the vacuum line going to the FPR.

I ran my vent tube just under the passenger side windshield wiper. So it vents out of the engine bay but is still protected by the hood. I just added a piece from one of the vacuum lines I took out and ran it up there.
