Could someone explain to me what exactly a 6-bolt motor is? :D

I'm starting to get really into cars now, and this is something that has caught my attention.

90 to mid 92 turbo motors had 6 bolts on the crank where the flywheel bolts.
mid 92 to 94 turbo motors had 7 bolts which are still better than the 2g 7 bolt which is the crankwalk monster. Crankwalk is when the crank moves side to side and u basically need a new bottom end or a new motor. Basically, if u have a pre mid 92 motor u r envied by other dsmers, but u could have a 3 bolt rear which tends to snap.

so 6bolts > 1g 7bolts > 2g 7bolts

you said replacing the bottem end, im guessing the mounting brackets. you just swap them or something?
