It makes a ga ga ga ga ga noise that goes away after 2-3 miles.
After my 1998 GSX (58k) sits for a few hours (5-6) it makes this horrible noise after I start it. It sounds like something is hitting against something else. When I look in the engine bay, I can tell that it is not coming from inside the engine, but seems to be coming from somewhere to the right of the engine bay where several of the belts are. It is engine (not transmission) RPM specific. And the part that has me stumped (other than pinpointing where it is coming from) is that it goes away completely after a few miles.
The carndrives fine, shifts fine, guages are all normal, etc. It just makes this horrible sound when it first starts up.
Anyonw have any idea what would "spin" when the car first starts but stop spinning after a few miles? This item is RPM related.
Thanks,
