Well, i got the old motor out no problem but I'm having some trouble getting the new one in, i got it half way in, then the front crank pulley is getting hung up on the top rail where the steel lines are bolted to then engine bay, next to the driver side strut tower. Would it be easiest to just take off the front crank pulley?

Help is appreciated!

ive always put the motor in first( which will drop right in if the tranny is disconnected) and attached the motor mounts. Then jack the front of the car as high as your jack will go and put it on stands. using the jack to slide the tranny under the car and up into its slots. Pretty easy this way and shouldnt take more than an hour or two.

You have a cherry picker, right? Does it have one of those little slider frames at the top? I'm not sure of the exact name, but you basically just spin the bolt and it will angle the motor while it's in the air so you can lower it, adjust the angle some, lower it more, adjust the angle and so forth until you get it in. When we did mine we adjusted it about 5 times, but it didn't really take more than 15 minutes to get it down and in place to set the mounts.

Might be a little different on a 2g, but the concept is still the same. Makes a world of difference, I'm sure because you can lower the tranny end so it's pointing down with the motor up-- slide that down and into it's cleared area and then lower the whole thing some more while adjusting the motor.

Anyone know the name of this so he can look into getting one?
