Ok First I'm new to the site so hi all. Secound I have read and I do know that the 2g T25 is a down grad but the 14b is shoot and I got a perfect T25 for free from a friend. Here is everything I have found out so far. I know the o2 housing from my 14b is good to use, and I have to extend my LICP to reach. My two questions are will my oil and water lines work, and how do I tell what port is the oil feed and the 2 water line. I'm only boosting 4psi with 14b, have oil in the inlet side no shaft play and I have check for boost leaks and all my exaust bolts are tight. Thats why Im trying the turbo. Trying to swap tonight so any info will help thanks all.

why only 4psi???

its a direct fit i believe. i have the 14b on my 2g right as we speak. oil feed is threaded and the nipple thing is the coolant i believe. i will go double check in a second.

no you dont have to change lines. you can reuse the water lines and the oil return tube i think with some modifying. the feedline i believe will work also just on 1g cars the oil feeds from the top of the engine and not from the bottom of the oil pump thing assembly. i dont recall what its called. but yeah everything should bolt up fine. just use new crush washers and replace the gaskets anywhere you need to replace them. you might have to bend the waterlines though.

thats what I want to hear!!!!!!! I don't mind bending lines just want to beable to drive it againe. I can't post a pic right now I'm in class. Thanks all and Ill keep you guys posted.

oil on the inlet side is normal. Usually comes from the breather on the valve cover. If its only building 4 pounds of boost and there is no shaft play I would start looking at the wastegate arm. Sounds like to me that the wastegate maybe stuck wide open.

Got the car like it. Checked the wg flaper and it seems closed all the way. The arm is really hard to move.

Check for boost leaks. Something is wrong if it only goes to 4 psi on wastegate pressure.

Which BOV, is it stock or aftermarket. To diagnose a boost leak you need to perform a boost leak test using a spray bottle of soapy water to look for bubbles.

It says high performance type rs. Aftermarket. Was on the car when I got it. You can feel the air comming out at about 15 psi.

It sounds like an eBay POS and wouldn't be suprised if the diaphragm is blown out.

If you can, find yourself a good 1g BOV or get a recirculated TiAL put on.

Ok replaced bov with a 1g. Stil 4psi. The oil in the inlet side of turbo has to be from the turbo the head vent is caped. The kid I caught it from said he replaced some seal in the turbo. would a bad exaust many gasket cause low boost? Gage builds from 2 psi to 4 like I have it set their. I'm pulling my hair out over here. Lol

Forgot to add boost at the j pipe is only 4 also. Doesn't build then drop just 4 psi.

Sounds like bad seals.

Also : A bad exhaust manifold gasket will cause a pre-turbo exhaust leak. This increases fuel/exhaust from the engine it takes to spool the turbo, thus causing you to run rich due to the amount of metered air being lost in the process and what the 02 Sensor sees.

Would bad seals cause low boost?

I have looked at the plugs and doesnt look like its running rich. Their a nice chocolet brown.

Chocolate

You can't always determine rich/lean conditions by plug colors. If you've been staying out of boost(pfft) then the engine is likely functioning fine. Bad seals could mean that instead of pressurizing air and producing 'boost', it's blowing right out of the exhaust. Now, I'm not a turbo genius like Jus is, but still. Maybe he could chime in.

If you have no boost leaks (Hopefully you tested correctly), The wastegate is functioning properly, the flapper is closing and opening as it should, you have no shaft play, and your compressior wheels are in good condition (Yes, this means your exhaust side. What do you think spools the turbo?) then it's going to either be a bad seal or a REALLY bad pre-exhaust leak. I currently have one, but I have no issues boosting upwards of 14psi, I just run rich as hell. Thing is, my plugs check fine.

Just a heads up.

If you have a bad seal, you are going to have shaft play (correct me if im wrong). When my PTE 50 trim blew, I went from being able to boost 20+ psi to not being able to get even 1 or 2. Tons of smoke out of the exhaust and shaft play. Blown turbo.
