Hi, well I got a 7 bolt I built myself that came out of a 1992.5 Talon(NT). I have a turbocharged 1991 GST though. I was wondering if you can put a 7 bolt engine, in place of a 6 bolt and all the mount holes and stuff will line up. Idk if mount are different between engines.

I want to put a regular non-turbo back in the 1992.5 Talon. Then put my fully built with turbo internals 7 bolt into the 1991 GST.

Is it possible or not worth it?

I would just get the engine you want for your car it seems it would be easier, so you want to put a 7bolt non turbo into a turbo car?

This is nice and all, except the OP asked about a 1G 7-bolt engine. That thread is mainly concerned with the 2G 7-bolt engine. ;)

In the case of a 1G 7-bolt engine into another 1G car, there really isn't anything preventing you from doing so. The mounting points are the same for all 1G engines. There are different mounts used between the two, but as long as you use the original mounting brackets that came in the car you are swapping the engine into, it won't be a problem. That also assumes you keep the turbo transmission. Make sure you read this article for good measure: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/48231-installing-turbo-4g63-into-nt-4g63.html.

I would keep all electronics that came in the car you are swapping into as well. Even though most are the same between 1991-1994 models, it's a peace of mind thing.
