Started my car today,cause i felt like it.. If the car idles, its put put put put put put,like the firing order is wrong.


Black smoke out of exhaust,burns the hair right out of your nose.

Was not expecting that at all..Anyone got an idea.


Running rich as hell is the obvious answer.But why?

Did you remove the cas and its 180* off?

what size injectors are in the car

First reaction is coil pack, if say 1-4 or 2-3 are fouled.. Do you still have the stock fuel pressure solenoid on the firewall?

CAS Is not 180 off but I could flip it for shits and giggles..

Injectors are 450's 43 psi fuel pressure. Stock auto pfr is still in the car. Solonoid is on the firewall as well.

I thought coil pack as well, but alllll 4 plugs look the same.I have what has to be a 90 coil pack sitting around..

is the car in question a 90? if so the tach signal comes from the coil pack and it may also be an issue.

if you do need a 90 coil pack i have a brand new in box unit that i got before i swapped over to a 92 wiring harness

Nope this is my 92..I'm pretty sure the extra coil pack I have is 90, cause it does not look like the one on my car.

I'm gonna flip the cas here when this show is over and try it again..

Have you verified your mech and base timing? are you at 10* BTDC? try 5*

Update...flipped the cas..Which idk how it got flipped in the first place..But flipped it...She purrs like a kitten..no trace of black smoke.. A tad of a rich smell from exhaust but,no cat....letting it run for a bit..Then ill turn her off and see what the plugs look like in the morning.

Each injector was firing cause I pulled them 1 by 1..Who would have thought the cas which I don't remember touching, would be flipped.
