My Purge Control Solenoid & Fuel Pressure Solenoid is unplugged, will this hurt anything and what will it do?

Fuel pressure solenoid is for "hot starts". Say you've been cruising the town and stop in the store for something to drink. Come out a few minutes later to start the car. At above a certain temperature (don't know what that is), the solenoid opens to atmosphere in order to raise the fuel pressure to base (normally about a 8-10PSI increase) to help combat vapor lock.

Here in Texas it's almost a necessity during the summer, however, if it doesn't really get hot where you live......don't worry about it.

Purge control solenoid........someone else will need to chime in on that one.

The purge control solenoid is for your emissions system. If you have to get tested you'll want to plug that back in. If you are planning on leaving it unplugged and do not need to get tested I'd suggest rerouting your emissions lines such that they are not running to the charcoal canister.

EDIT: Just saw a FAQ on O2 sensors, how about one on the FP Relay and Purge Relay?

The purge control solenoid controls a valve between a charcoal canister and the intake. When the engine is off, gasoline vapors that are built up inside of the tank are absorbed by the charcoal in the canister. When the engine is running, this valve opens up to purge this canister. The canister is there to control evaporative emissions purposes to reduce the level of fuel vapors released into the atmosphere.

How can I connect this back up, I couldn't find something to connect it too?

is there any thing bad other than emissions wise in getting rid of the charcoal canister, because today I was going to do a gut job on my car taking out all the extra b.s. in the engine bay that i didnt need to run the car because I want a clean simple look in there without being a clutter ####. And I dont have a fuel pressure solenoid and I live in fl but it doesnt seem to affect anything? For instance the n/t cars dont come with them and they crank up just fine?
