GVR-4 purge control solenoid valve

Since i took off the charcoal canister and all the emissions stuff do i need to keep the purge control solenoid valve in. I know its not a big deal, but if its just going to be there doing nothing i might as well remove it. thanks alot.

No, you have nothing to purge anymore since you took everything else out.

I was thinking that as well..... but wasnt sure if OBD1 would pick it up..... Then again it is emissions related....

Try it and see. Worst that can happen is the CEL comes on.

Mine is gone along with boost solenoid and all other parts related to emissions and have yet to get a cel. I dont think it is an issue with 1g's.

Just like 92awddsm I took out all selenoids & emissions. No CEL and no "loud enough to be heard in the cockpit" All you need is 3 vac lines, Boost Control, BOV, and FPR

That's a common failure mode. Replace it with a new one. They're fairly cheap.
