pulled smic...broke something

alright i pulled off my smic today because it needs cleaning real bad as you can see from the picture. well some idiot obviously tried to get the intercooler in the past and ended up stripping almost all of the screws that hold on that plastic in the front of the ic, the piece that kind of directs the air into the ic. now since i couldnt get the screws out i kind of just popped them off with a screw drive. now i broke some of the plastics on it but it looks like if i just got a new one i can get it in there fine. my question is is this piece needed or will i be fine without it? thanks

It'll work fine if you can zip-tie it in place. It's just an air duct.
