Alright had white smoke coming out exhaust.. posted thread on here about it...
Compression was right at rebuild stage 135...
No bubbles in coolant from leakdown test
soo i pulled the head off and i didnt see any spots where the gasket would be bad at from what ive seen looking at other threads.

I think its a turbo seal.... thats what i said before when i posted but everyone was dead set on it being a HG

Turbo has in/out shaftplay.. so i need a new/rebuild?

The motor still has really low copression though so i could be looking at rings?
sorry bout bad quality pics best i had was my iphone
and its not letting me upload the pics.. other than 1

Did you do the compression test with the engine warm, throttle wide open, and battery fully charged?

How does the head look? Is there any metal missing around the cylinder domes?

What kind of turbo?

To check the rings, rotate the crank so all the pistons are even in the block. Pour an even amount of oil into each cylinder and enough to completely cover the pistons. Dip a screw driver (or similar) into the oil and make a mark to keep track of the level. Let it sit overnight and check the level again. It should be right at the mark, or at least very close. If one or more cylinders are much lower or dry, the engine will need to be rebuilt.

I would take the head to a machinist to be cleaned, inspected for cracks/warps, and serviced. If the head is good, I would suggest having them do a full rebuild on the head while you have it off. If you plan to use an MLS gasket (which I don't suggest), let the machine shop know. Also, now would be the time to replace the stock head bolts with ARP studs.

If it is definitely white smoke there's only three places the coolant could get into the combustion chamber. The FIAV, turbo, or from the block. If it was the turbo it would have to be cracked to where the coolant is getting in the compressor housing. If its the FIAV you would see some serious warm up and cold start idlong problems. It could even be possible (but unlikely) that somewhere in the block there is a crack between the coolant jackets and the combustion chamber but because the compression is even across the board this would be unlikely. I would think check the FIAV as stated before

I didnt mind pulling the head... it doesnt take long and i figured i could do ARP studs Ect
The car has a 120,000 and i doubt the previous owner did much servicing to the motor considering the entire engine bay had grease all over it...
The car does have problems on cold starts to idle..
And it does seem really hot.. i have to keep both fans running
Most of the gauges in the car dont work
And i didnt recieve a Cable for link when i bought the car :/
Everything is stock on the car except it has dsm link v2
and a MBC and a aftermarket SMIC
