Does anyone know where PTE requires their oil feed lines to be in order for the warranty to be in effect? All they say is that it must be relocated. I currently have it located at the head, but do not know if this is where they want it. With the possiblity of my turbo being shot and me needing to send it in to them, this would be a good thing to know before I start talking. Thanks.

they give you a warrenty card with the turbo, i will take a pic of it later today if you still need it, you need to get the oil from the filter housing like was said above

If you never run any real boost with your pte turbo like most do 16,17,18 psi. Then the head will kill the turbo a lot slower and maybe never. If you have balls and actually run 20-24 psi through your turbo. then the head will not be able to supply enough oil volume or pressure. To properly lubricate the thrust bearing.

Solution

Use the oil filter housing as the oil supply source.

Yes, you must run it off of the oil filter location for them to honor the warranty. I just had this discussion with them, althogh the are willing to honor mine since the vendor I bought it from told me to run it off the head (Thanks SBR:rolleyes: ). I have put less than 5k on this turbo, running it from the head and it is already showing signs of wear.

So now not only must I buy the correct line, but I have to take the turbo off and send back to PTE to get repaired. You would have thought that after spending 2500 dollars with a vendor they would try to be more helpfull???? Guess not.

Is it better to run all turbos from the oil filter housing? If so i wanna run mine from there, how do i go about doing that? i know i would need a new oil feed line, but what else? NM i figured it out.

I didn't pay 2500 just for the turbo.....That is how much I spent all and all with them. I am not that much of a kanoobie

Don't have to tell me about the green. I know that is what I should have gotten, but I will have to make do with what I have now.;) Come winter FP will be getting a call from me.

Thanks everybody. Looks like I'm off to call PTE to see how much this is gonna cost me. If anybody knows any good shops on the east coast for rebuilding turbos let me know. I don't know how much PTE's gonna want from me:cry:
