Good morning fellow tuners, so the shootout trip was epic as usual and seems to get better every year. It was good to see everyone and get some wrench time on Vic’s car. Definitely some dope vehicles were present.

I debated on adding a megaphone on my exhaust but decided to use a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator by itself. Let me know your thoughts on the megaphone.

Ok, here is my input, my setup had a very deep and boomy tone with a little drone and I loved it. I think placement of the megaphone plays a big part. Since mine was on the end of the exhaust system , it made the sound “boomy or fuller. It was a little on the loud side , but deeper. I finally got my thermal rd exhaust so I’m swapping that in , because it’s a little more mellow and I always wanted one. My honest opinion is to add the megaphone with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator, it will sound insane on a 4g63t

After the shootout, I wanted to install some of the goodies I picked up. First was a 1g awd Thermal Rd exhaust. I had been locking for one of these for years. Next was a FBF billet thermostat housing. Very well built.

So as of right now, I will finish working out the quirks, get ready for some Dyno time and put her away in storage until she gets painted again.I actually gained my first customer at the shootout so I’m excited on that. Be on the lookout for a new build thread.

That is an interesting t-stat housing, unique design. Does the line feed the turbo (stupid question)?

Your dsm attracted a lot of attention at the shootout.

Yes the design seems a little bigger than oem, and also sits lower. It seems my hoses line up better. I like it because it’s modular, and uses orings instead gaskets for sealing. It also has plenty of ports for various sensors and the rad hose nipple is removable where I can swap to a AN fitting.

I added the resonator near the end of the system, essentially as the muffler. Where would you think the megaphone should go?

I would place it towards the middle right after the downpipe.

That makes sense looking at it, love the o-ring upgrade - you would thing that'd be an OEM idea but guess not.
