first day i bought the 1g dsm, previous owner said car just died on him and he thought the starter went bad..... turns out as soon as i pulled the valve cover both of the rollers on the intake side had popped off on the number 1 cylinder... there was a major gap between turbo and j pipe on the 16g... As you can tell a starter was the least of my problems.... the motor was completely locked up and the block ended up being cracked.
I found that out as soon as i decided to paint the block after i pulled the motor...
I was off to the the junk yard and soon as got there i struck gold and pulled this motor out of a project car that was unfinished
and the motor was in exelent condition it still had honing marks and all of the bearing checked out good but i decided to put my rebuild head with 272's on the motor, i put an eagle crank in it with a Frankenstein 2g piston big rod combo from dsm graveyard, also do a balance shaft elimination kit out of the blown motor.
about 1yr later i put a 20 turbo upgrade and radiator and i have put less than 300 miles on this motor so far since initial build and car is a daily driver
cleaning up the inter-cooler piping
painting them
20g turbo
radiator and fans
Drive-able play toy
