This post may help you head into the right direction. I would also wager it possible that your clutch has come apart? My stock one imploded trying to reverse out of a park job on a super steephill. Just some considerations.
alright, so i broke the left rear axle,

but i dont think thats all that broke, the car wont budge under its own power, so i think the axle is part one of the damage....but i have to work on homework for tommorow, so i wont be tearing her apart today, but im down to the center diff or xfer case, not sure which
yeah, that would be impressive if it was a 4bolt, but its a 3 bolt...![]()
check this out
....so i just went outside to check on the car for the first time since it broke, and was going to put it into gear to see if the back shaft that broke would spin so i would know if the back was getting power. When my roomate put it in first...the car went forward. then reverse, the same.... how could this be when it was completly dead in the in the water when it broke? Im thinking possibly something as stupid as the linkage got jacked up around the same time the axle snapped. Who knows! So i guess im going to try to drill and tap the shaft thats still in the rear diff, throw a bolt in it and try to pull it out so i can throw the next axle in there. Im just over here laughing right now because im stumped as to why the car now moves on its own power.

Yeah I think I would rather find the fix to a problem and FIX it instead of the car doing it for me....nothing against my baby but....leave the mechanic's to me ol faithful
It just seems unrealistic to me that you can run 12s with such little money.More power to you if you pull it off.I know its probably harder up here cause the elevation is like 5000ft.So at sea level or closer to it you may have a better shot.

) $25
that finally pulled it, a long solid extension bar, sledge hammer, and 2 people standing on the rear diff...
