problems with thermostat

I'm having touble with finding what goes hooked up to the two connections that look either like vacuum or coolant connections. i tried searching but that wasn't no help. I bought the car with all sorts of lines and connections unplugged but can't seem to follow this one.
I have a 93 eclipse 2.0 non-turbo with a manual transmission. Here is a pic that points to what i'm talking about it's located on the thermostat housing. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
