i put a new thermostat in my car and it seems to run a little hot. it runs just past halfway on my gauge, and i was wondering if i need to worry about this?

Did you get en EXACT replica of your old one?

OK, may I suggest that you go to the local Mitsu dealer and buy an OEM t-stat. Here is a picture of an OEM T-stat (left) and one from NAPA. You can see that they are not alike. The T-stat from NAPA has a smaller plunger opening that doesn't flow as much as OEM.

Yup yup.

While you're at it, might as well replace the radiator cap also. It doesn't need to be OEM though.

Also check your hoses, you might have a damaged hose.
