I put my car away for storage over the winter... I had to change the battery cause the old one died... I had my friend change the battery (first time he hooked it up postive to negative and negative to postive.. don't know if this caused the problem) Anyway I got the battery on the right way and started up my car... I can de activate my alarm but when i do it makes a weird buzzing noise... Also the alarm horn continues to go off but yet the lights dont flash... The next problem is my door locks dont work. Neither the remote or if I use the button in the car... And finally my turbo timer doesnt work properly. I go to turn off my car and my turbo timer times down but my car shuts off right away... Everything worked fine before I put the car away for storage...

With a test light test the large wire on the back of the Alternator B+ this must have battery voltage, then check the large main fuses. It may not be any good to check the smaller until you know you have feed to them. You can buy an assortment if you have to buy any of the mains while you are out.

If that's all it is you will be very very lucky, you may have ruined some relays and other components by reversing the polarity, good you didn't have the key on. Hopefully you didn't burn up the wiring loom before you got it pulled off.

Let us know what progress you make.

Cheers,
GTM

I didnt have time to check anything out today... But if it were the fuse... wouldn't the alarm not even come on and wouldnt the turbo timer not even come on...

Since I think there is more than one large fuse feeding subrodinate functions it is entirely possible some thing will work and some will not. It took me longer to write than to have looked under the hood and test. It's equally likely that some circuits will be protected with diodes and will not be damaged.

This is not the normal chain of events that I can state XYZ will happen though many of the lights would work and the starter would engage ring gear teeth but then spin backwards. In that example they have an overun clutch on the gear so the engine would not turn.

Let us know what you find when you can get back to the task.

Well I went and checked the main fuses and they seem to be fine... I cant find my test light to test the Alternator B+ wire cause my dad loves to lose shit. But ill get one tomorrow to do it...

For instance, say I did try to start the car with reverse polarity what damage could have be done... I do not think I even put the key in the ignition but its a possibility my friend tried it before i noticed...

You can use a multimeter, it's just the test light is faster for basic checks.

Any number of devices could be destroyed, relays, bulb check monitor, ECU, timer etc. The fact that it starts is a good sign the ECU may have been spared.

Alright I tested the Alternator b+ wire and it is fine... Don't know what to do next... If there is anything else that is easy for me to check let me know... If not I might just take it somewhere after I get my new clutch in and I also have to register my Car in a different state cause i got my registration suspended where I live...

Thanks

Other than testing all the relays I don't know what else to suggest. With a schematic find the most basic simple circuit and trace that so you can find the failure. If you get into more complicted circuits you can get overwhealmed with all the conditional branching.

Check the door light switch that pops open when you open the door. Mine went out and my car alarm went off while I was still driving. I just unhooked mine and it fixed it.
