Viper Alarm/Turbo Timer

Has anyone out there installed a turbo timer and a viper alarm, but the passive alarm did not work on the viper, but did some sort of rewire to trick the Viper that the engine and power is off (but it's not because of turbo timer), and allow you to arm the alarm while the turbo timer is counting down.

I have just a plain jane turbo timer from ebay (works just fine) that just does a count down before shutting off the power to the engine and the car.

Is it a viper remote start/turbo timer or is it a viper alarm and seprate turbo timer? If they are seprate, that would probably mess with the arming of the alarm. I know that when a viper alarm arms, it checks all of its triggers and if one is triggering, it disables that part of the system (for example, if you have a door open when you arm, the alarm will sense that the door is open and disable the door trigger). Im not sure what features will check for the cars power being on, so you might be able to get away with it. Your best bet would be to get the alarm/remote start with turbo timer so that its all one system.

That's what I don't want to do, buy a whole new setup. I was thinking of taking it back to the place that installed the alarm, because I installed the turbo timer, and ask them what I can do to trick the alarm that everything is off and the car can be set. I know there is a way, and i'm plotting a way of doing it, i'm searching through my DSM CD manual for the wiring.

Let's hypothesize together. When you take out the key the turbo timer keeps everything on. Now, if there is a way for the Alarm to be tricked that the car is off, there must be some tiype of relay or wire rewire that can be done to set the alarm. I have to go back to the place anyways because I was trying to do the passive thing with the Viper, but the passive isn't working.

Please, if you have something to add, do so. I do not want to spend more money for an all in one unit.

Which viper alarm do you have? I have one that has the remote with the screen that tells you the status of the car every... like 30 secs or so. Anyways with mine I can hold the arm button while car is running, and it will arm the car. I use it to warm my old wrx in the morning. You should see if it has that feature. Just not sure what would happen after car turns off, since I didnt have a turbo timer on my old wrx. Just a thought.

There is a way to bypass the alarm and use an aftermarket turbo timer. You have to unhook your accesory wire that keeps your radio on from your turbo timer. Then move the Yellow wire that comes from the viper alarm to that wire and it will let you arm your alarm while the turbo timer is running. You may have to readjust your shock sensor so its not to sensitive ecspecially if your car sputters any when its idleing. If you need more help just pm me and we can get into further detail.
