I just recieved my new walbro 255 fuel pump for my 95 eagle talon tsi awd and when i went to install the pump i pulled off a fuel line and fuel started pooring out and would not stop coming out from the sending line from the tank and it way to small to plug it with something. i mean i let this sit for about 15 sec and fuel came out pretty steady. so if anyone has sone this before and could lend some helpful advice i would be most greatful. :talon:

its just the fuel thats left over in the line, not much more will come out, do a search and follow instructions on how to releive the fuel presure, allthough it isnt nessesary

to release pressure from the fuel system there are two things that need to be done. first open your gas cover and remove your gas cap to relieve pressure on that side and second with your car running unplug the white harness that sits on top of your fuel pump housing. after it is unplugged your car will die because of your pump not sending any fuel and your motor will suck whats left in the line. not all but most.

thanks for the advice ill give that a shot wnd let ya know if that worked or not

after I disconnected the line by the tank about a quart of gas continued to leak out.

Next time, unplug the harness first. Then start the car untill it dies so there is not much fuel left in the lines and you don't have gas dumping out all over your shit!

Did you open up your gas lid? That might be a great start.
no i did not open my gas lid. ill give that a shot right after i get this damm fuel line off because its being a pain in the ass

its not that its leaking bad i just need to know how long i should let gas spill into my car

Don't try to get the line apart at the fuel pump assembly top...follow the vfaq.com suggestions.

you need to get a flair wretch to undo it from the bottem side of line first then after the line is undone make sure you have a bucket just incase some of you like to fill your tanks full of fuel before starting this process, half tank to almost empty is ideal. once the line is un done then start on the top. www.vfaq.com go to fuel and click on fuel pump install. your fuel is not supposed to pour into the car.

well every thing went together great and the thing hums like a champ. it sound great and thanks for all the help i've posted pics of us doing it under my pics if anyones interested in checking it out. peace!
