Hello. I just recently purchased a set of the 91-94 throttle body seals from MachV, but I'm having trouble installing them. I greased them up and used a 10mm socket to tap them in. That went for the most part o.k. The problem was once they were in there, I had trouble sliding the shaft through them. The seals kept popping out and getting stuck on the shaft. I also noticed the seals have two different sides. Does it matter which way they are installed? I did use the vfaq too for how to do it. Any tips from anyone that has used these would be great. The outsides of the seals are a little rough from being push in and back out multiple times. But the inside portion of the seals (where they seal around the shaft) are still o.k. Iwant to make sure that I don't mess these up and have to spend another $11 for the seals and $7 for shipping.:notgood:

-Thanks for your help, Jason.

Thanks for the post! I also bought those seals and am about to change them out this weekend. :thumb: Good info.

Thanks for the info. I need to get some new seals now. I just tried to install them again without any luck. They're not round anymore. Anyway, I would like to stay away from an o-ring and use an actual seal. Does anyone know where to find these seals, besides MachV. I may end up trying to use the #7 o-ring and if I can't find the right seal. And I'm not going to pay $18 again to MachV for the seals.

Yeah, I had them in the right way. Just had a problem keeping them in when would slide the shaft through. I may make a stop at the zone and see what their #7 o-rings look like. I just hope they seal.

When you have the seals installed; put a dab of dielectric grease on the inside of each seal before you put the shaft through. Make sure to work the grease all around the opening. Good luck.

Well, since I have actually installed these seals, I may be able to help.

All I removed the shaft for was to remove the old seals and to clean everything up. When you take it apart, make sure you keep everything in order. It makes reassembly go by in about 5 minutes. Install the shaft first, then install the seals. Like FierceDSM, use grease, oil, or any type of lube, and be gentle. I did one side at a time to keep parts from getting mixed up. I hope this helps.
