Today i was doing my clutch install and when i was torquing my flywheell two bolts got damaged, a friend of mine compared my stock flywheel with the fidanza one and we realized that the holes of the flywheel to crank bolts in fidanza are 1/8 in longer making the bolt 1/8 shorter on the crank not able to hold the nessesary torque.
Tomorow i will buy new and 1/8 longer bolts and hope o solve my problems, anyone had this problem or shouldn i have it?

Yes, there are companies that sell longer bolts just for this purpose. I believe forced performance has a kit, but be wary about using the pressure plate studs that come in the kit, i have read a few horror stories about them.

Ok i had 2 bolt thread damaged, i fix one and the other one was very bad, maybe im crazy asking this but i torqued 6 bolt to 85 ft.lbs and 1 bolt to 60 ft. lbs cus the thread was damaged the bolts are new and longer.

is it enough?

I would trace the threads with a tap to clean them up, as a flywheel off balance due to being a little loose on one side could be catastrophic. I know it's unlikely, but should that bolt back out, a little wobble at 7000 rpm = very bad.

A tap may not fix it, but it will help it. You will be much better off running a tap in to it.

If you are not already using the longest bolts possible, get them. Bottom tap the holes and torque to spec using thread-lock. If any strip out, you will need to repair them using heli-coils.

Man I feel bad for you... I have a 1G so its probably alittle different. I just got done putting in a Fidanza flywheel and a zoom clutch. I just used the stock bolts. They had plenty of threads sticking out. I hope everything works out for you in the end.

Amazingly enough i have had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM LAST NIGHT. I was changing my clutch got everything aligned right just putting on the final bolts connecting the pressure plate and the flywheel and the directions that came with the new clutch said the tighten the bolts to only 14lbs. Well we set the torque wrench to just that....we thought it was a little tight but...we trusted the tool(we'll never do that again) the wrench NEVER CLICKED!. Instead we heard *DING* the sound of the bolt snapping. I thought i was doomed and was going to have to replace my flywheel. BUT NO, THERE WAS HOPE!. We used a power tool to get the 7 huge freakin bolts off the center of the flywheel and the vibrations from the drill actually loosened the bolt enough to show its thread and we just used our fingers to twist out what was left!!! SAVED. Then i just went up to my closest Mitsubishi dealer to the parts department and bought a few replacement bolts for the clutch assembly!. All better......HOWEVER!,
If removing the flywheel using an air compressors vibrations doesn't work to loosen it, you can go to your nearest Home Depot and buy "back outs" they look like very tiny threaded cork screws that when using the drill with is centered on the bolt turning clockwise (any other time tightening it) will actually turn the bolt COUNTER clockwise and pull the damaged and headless bolt out.

Hope this helps, i'm in the same water....my transmission is on a jack right now waiting for the bolts..... this time we'll trust our instincts.

3 days and cant sleep, the transmission job is done, havent started the car yet cyus dead battery, i know i did it wrong but i torqued 6 bolts to 95ftlbs and the one with the damaged thread to 70 ftlbs it woldnt take more cus it sliped, hope it works until i finish rebuilding my 6bolt engine (it wold take at lest 1 year) . If something happends i think ill put that bolt up my .... and then a bullet in my head
