Background info
An old roommate of mine had a 93 NT with a dead engine. When he moved out he owed me some money so he signed over the title to me.
The car had sat for almost 2 years and it sat for about 8 months after he signed it over to me.
Once I had time to dive into it I discovered it had spun a rod bearing.
Although it had spun, the bearing it had not completely came apart. So there wasnt much metal in the oil pan. The crank itself showed no signs of abnormal wear nor did the rod so I replaced the rod bearing.
I also inspected the plugs and they looked ok, no metal or oil on them.
I have flushed the engine and plan on changing the oil and filter a couple of times within the next 100 miles.
After replacing the bearing the car started ok, it took a few turns but nothing I wouldnt have expected for a car that sat almost 3 years.
It idled ok and I could rev it up slightly with no abnormal noise. It was warming up ok so I decided to take it for a short drive.
Problem
When under acceleration it feels like it is missing. I get no check engine but there is definitely something weird going on.
I've been out of the DSM loop so long I figure Im forgetting something but cant think of what. I've check all the electrical and vacuum connections I can think of and cant find anything out of place.
The car seems to have less power then it should but its the first time Ive driven an NT so Im not sure what to expect, I keep waiting for the turbo to kick in but, alas, it doesnt
What am I forgetting?
PS: I plan on doing a compression check as soon as I can track down a compression tester.
