Well Ive searched and didnt find what I need so heres my question.
I just fully rebuild my 96 eclipse gst and its runs great but after a test run I thought I heard a little bottom end noise so I pulled the oil pan and the rod caps and they are worn funny the middles of each rod bearing is worn (All shiny) I tested the clearance before I started it with plastigage and it it says im at about .045 mm witch is sapose to be in spec. I have arp studs in the rods and a brand new crank I dont have a stretch gauge but I fallowed arps instructions on torquing they say 38 lbs. Im just not sure where I went wrong should I try to run it more? Ive got a lot of money into this motor and dont want to destroy it.
The only thing I can think of is when I first started it it reved to about 3k rpms I turned it over a lot before starting it and used assembly lube on each bearing.
