Ok guys here's my problem: When I bought the car ( Eclipse GS 1994) it didn't have a fog light switch, instead it had a button-like piece of plastic with a hole in the middle for the alarm LED.

The only way to turn on the fog lights was when I used highbeams however the police here are making me problems so I got myself the fog light switch. I took the dash apart and when I installed it, nothing happened. The switch does absolutely nothing :/ All of the fuses under the dash seem to be alright.
Anybody have an idea what might be causing this?

Next question: When I start the car and the ECU makes a test in the beginning I can see that there's this *put your seatbelt on you dummie* kinda lamp, so I looked under the seat and, as I supposed there was a wire going from the seat into the carpet. The problem is that even if I remove my seat belt while driving the lamp still won't light.

Last question: I wanted to have the spoiler 3rd stop actually working so I took the red plastic piece off and it looks like I don't have the "thing" that holds the bulbs. That's not a problem though - I got a 15 inch 12v LED strip which would do just fine. I took the big plastic cover from behind the hatch and I really did find the little plug that is supposed to be for the third stop light . However...there's no power to it. Suggestions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to bring the car back to its original state , exactly the way it looked when it got off of the assembly line ;)

Thanks in advance , Stoyan

Your car has been modded to use the fogs with high beams.Ill link that later im on my phone right now.

The 3rd brake light and your seatbelt light seem to be not hooked up,or the bulb is burnt on the light.like the ebrake the seatbelt should have wiring under the seat for that light.

The led strip should work.So plug in the third brake light to the harness inside the hatch. Now if that yeilds no pwer, your going to have to trace that harness and find out where its not connected.

The wire under the seat is plugged in the wire that sticks from the floor..the problem isn't there.
And the bulb on the dash seems to be ok as it lights when the ecu makes the test before you start..

You may want to check the pins and wires to make sure there's not corrosion or anything like that too. If something got spilled and made it to the connector, that could cause issues. Though normally you'd see other evidence of that too. A multimeter with long test probes works great to trace back wiring issues, especially where you can't see all of the wiring, but have access to both ends of the harness.

thanks guys :) I'll get a multimeter and check all the wires.. will let ya all know what happened ;)
