The only complaint I have about my car is the clutch "engage" position. It engages with the pedal right at the floorboard. It almost feels like it doesn't totally disengage because sometimes it's hard to get it into gear. The guy I just bought it from installed a brand new clutch hydraulic cylinder and the threaded part is adjusted all the way out. He also said it was properly bled. I don't know what type of cylinder it is, but it is not a Mitsu part. Thanks.

I have the same thing with mine. Im going ot adjust the linkage, and bleed the cylinder this weekend. See if it fixes it, otherwise i'll really go to town and figure it out.

Anyone else seen this?

the rod that goes from your clutch pedal to your master cylinder can be adjusted to how you like it. i remembered thinking it was a pain in the butt kinda, but i just got the car and i was 1/10th the mechanic i am not. so it might not be that bad.

just unhook the pins and loosen the bolts and i think with the right size wrenches you just loosen it and it will lenghten it and change your engagment point.

someone who has had to do this more recently would be more helpful cuz i havn't done it in two years.

I had the same problem when i got my 95 GST not long ago. I had to push the pedal all the way to the floor to switch gears. The last owner installed a new clutch but it still engaged all the way by the floor so i looked behind the clutch pedal and saw that it can be adjusted. There is a bolt that you loosen up and then turn the long metal wire or whatever it is. I did that and its all good now.. you can adjust it anywhere you want. Make sure you tighten back the bolt or it will unscrew the wire and your clucth pedal wont work. Good luck :thumb:
