Power windows EXTREMLY SLOW

I heard this was a common problem on early dsm's and i heard you were supposed to put some sort of lubricant on the rubber pieces by the window, but what exactly should i put on there? becuause i dont want my windows gettin all gunky with wd-40 hah, if anybody knows please help!

wd40 but that stuff only works for like a day for me, then it goes back to normal, and your in the same climate as me so..

Once the things get hard, there's not a whole lot you can do. I've had success with armor-all, but it smears on the windows.

just accept the fact that it takes 5 mins to completely open or close a window

I have a 90 TSi and it rolls up and down like new, Im not sure what they have in there from the factory. If you had time you could pull the panel and check the alignment, I had a 91 with the same problem. Took it apart, greased all the sliding rails and ever joint, also put some in the window but ended up wiping it all out anyway cause it looked like crap and got dirty real quick. long story short, worked much better and had less stress on the motors but still not as quick as my 90. Hope that helps!
