power window-- one push button

ok i have been planning to start working on this once my semester ends, which is like in two weeks . well here's what i am planning. i have been wanting to be able to push the passenger window button down, and have it come down just like the driver's side window. my friend is an electric genius. he was thinking it shouldn't be that hard of a task. has anyone ever done this before. and if you guys have can you give me some advice or some tips on how i should start. i am about to check vfaq to see if they have a tech article.

The least expensive way to do this would be to use some sort of 555 timer circuit or a microprocessor and measure the amount of time it takes for your windows to roll down and set it to activate the circuit for that amount of time when the button is pressed.

The easier way to do it if you don't want to design your own board would be to buy a kit online.

I think it would probably be easier to get a second switch setup from another dsm and have your electrical genius friend to retrofit the driver side switch and circuit to your existing setup. Also have him wire in the second diode for auto up also. I did the auto up mod a few years ago and love it. Instructions for it can be found here .

yeah he was thinking of the ways to do it. before actually starting. i asked him about just buying a kit, he said that would the easiest way to do it. do you know any websites that sell them?

ahhh the vfaq article says only for 1g's. i looked on the site to see if there were any for the 2g's but did see any .. do you know of a place for a tech article for the auto up for 2g's
