ok i followed the directions on this how-to to a T for the 90 turbo

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/229419-how-test-power-transistors.html

before i hooked up the last wire (pos of 1.5v batt to slot #5 red/yellow) the light came on when i put the wire in the #6 black/yellow slot, which the how to says it should not come on. so what is the issue iam having then? is it bad wiring? does that mean my ecu is bad?
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

also when the light turns on there is a noise coming from the coil pack which i believe is that small black box on the back of the packs, what is that anyways?

found a broken off wire on my CAS pulled it all apart and rewired it, still no change in the CEL code 0044 and still only runs on two cylinders, is there any way i could have put the CAS in backwards? or didnt adjust it properly when putting it back on?

If cylinders 2 and 3 aren't firing then a lot of the members on here will say its the transistor pack.
My broke and same thing happened. I changed the CAS and the coil-pack and nothing happened.
I changed the transistor pack and bam it worked fine. The CAS only goes on one way and it has a
notch to show it has been aligned properly. After that if it's on the the car should work if everything
else is working. The CAS might need a little adjusting but not much, it shouldn't give that kind of
code if it was misaligned.
When my transistor pack was messed up I didn't even test it. I just got another and popped it in and
i heard the sound I always love. My car starting up :)

the transistor is supposed to be brand new as per the po, ill see if i can find another one locally

workin on my buddys 1990 laser turbo. His car died while he was driving and he had no spark on all 4 cylinders. We replaced the power transistor with a good one i had as well as a good coil i had. It ended up being the ECU. Now it runs but wont idle.

i was testing the harness side which is wrong, i wasnt testing the power transistor. will test again right now and update thanks.

My car did the same thing one day and didn't wanna start up...it was on a highway ramp :| I popped the hood, looked stared for a second, went and turned it on :hmm: I thought it was just that i stalled. A few weeks later I was going fast down my street and I believe I jumped timing. IT didn't my power transistor went bad. It was a pain in the ass. Now my car was working then I parked it one night and now it doesn't. It would want to turn on it is very rough. I need to see if I have a spark on all 4 again and repeat my whole misery.

got an extremely weak signal from the 2&3 side and the 1&4 side, the transistor is supposed to only be 2 months old how is that possible? i hope iam doing this right cause its a pretty expensive part to replace for no reason.
i will try to make a video of my test and post it so that someone can hopefully tell me if iam doing it wrong

It was a bad connection on pin 55 of the ecu the transistor was fine, sent the ecu back yo dsmlink they fixed it and sent it back free of charge.
