power steering pump issue

Just was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. While going through some of the quick left to right transitions in auto x it seems my p/s is fighting me. The five races I did last season this was a problem then as well. In attemps to cure this I have tried DSM fluid, mobil one syn and regular fluid with some ER in it. Nothing has worked. I raced an auto cross today and took second by .26 seconds. Needless to say had my p/s worked right I probably would have won. I had read in a forum before that there is a pressure relief valve in the pump. Now removing that would blow up anything the isn't a metal so is there a way to "modify" it?

What RPMs where you running at when you lost power steering. Not sure about the NTs but the T models have a smart power steering system that cuts out at higher RPMs so you have a better feel when racing down the highway.

For the most part I am around 5-6000 in first gear.
