when ever i turn i get this load groaning sound that sounds mechanical. i checked the pump and it looked like there was a little fluid coming out the top but the cap was on tight and the level was fine. im not sure if its the power steering or just bushings that need to be greased?

best why to check is to jack up the front end and check for lose broken or worn parts. Wiggle the wheels side to side and up and down there should be almost zero play in them. sounds to me like you have a steering part thats worn or broken.

Sounds like the power steering pump is going out. Get a big screw driver and have the car on with the wheel turned all the way and hold the tip of the screwdriver to a non moving part of the power steering pump and fat end to your ear and if it sounds like all h*** is breaking loose its probably a bad pump. Pulleys may need to be replaced too.

Do this:thumb: I would almost place bets on it being a bad power steering pump if you are hearing a loud groaning when turning. Also make sure your power steering rack is not leaking fluid. Just a safety check.

Welll tooday my power steering passed away :( it'll work for short turns but for long ones i gotta crank it. Pretty much alll the fluid leaked out. I think it would be much safer if I just removed it completely until I get it fixed? Would it be good having no powersteering on a dd?
