Ok well one of my power steering lines on my rack is leaking. It's the one that's on top when they run across the rack on my 1990 Laser RS. I looked and traced the leak. It's definately not the rack. The line has a little pin hole in it. What is this line called and where the heck can I find one? I'm NOT replacing the whole rack.

this usual happens with 90s and destroys the alternator, just get rid of the power steering pump and go manual.

If the one outlined in red is the right one, then here's the part number: MB553134

Ok I guess I wasn't clear enough. Someone was rushing me before cause well they hate my car obsession. It's a steel line on the back side (if your looking at it from under the car) of the rack right above the downpipe that transfers fluid between the two sides. I can't really explain it any better than that and I haven't been able to find any pictures of it. It's the upper most of the two steel lines on the back. I tried to JB Weld it but it blew off, I don't think I let it set long enough. I'm gonna try that again and let it sit for a day or two, but I would like to know what it's called and where I can get another one. Thanx for the help.

Ooops....yeah wasn't sure what you were talking about. I think this is what you are looking for. Mitsu part numbers are in black...

Don't bypass it. Replace it with the proper fit line as adidalax has suggested. The rack is lubricated by the power steering fluid. Removing the line would rob it of its lubrication and would thus shorten the life of the rack. Not to mention it's a killer to drive and turn.

Please do it right.

Good Luck

Yes beautiful that's exactly what i want. I had no intention of bypassing it. I just couldn't find the part numbers in my CAPS program and had no idea what they were called. Thanx a lot guys big help. Just to make sure these are part numbers for a 1990 Eclipse right?

Just to make sure these are part numbers for a 1990 Eclipse right?

Yep, should be....

If you call up the Stealership they should be able to verify year. In CAPS, this is what I chose:

Vehicle Code: 50G
Model: D22A
Classification: MNHML4M - High Line, 5FM/T - FED

To find the part you need, go to:

37: Steering
37-050: Steering Gear

Now you hit the Right-hand (single) arrow at the top to go to the next page of illustrations...It's all there :thumb:
