power steering hard lines

On a 1G there is 2 hard power steering lines that come from the power steering out in front of where the radiator goes and back. are these in front to be cooled by the incoming air or can i make a shorter hard line that does a U in the corner and doesnt go all that distance?

You need that cooling, or you'll cook up the PS fluid since the system is under pressure.

I've seen many people remove this line your talking about. I did I havent seen any effect by it

I have mine completely removed and haven't had any problems. I removed it when I installed my front mount intercooler. Another option is to install an aftermarket power steering cooler.

I just bent mine backwards a bit so it sits almost up against the a/c condenser.

x3 2g as well i just need to adjust the powersteering line now. For that line to make that big of an impact on the power steering system to cool it down it would need cooling fin's to be effecient
