I would like to post this in 420a technical however still a newbie well heres my problem

My serpentine belt keeps slipping and breaking and i cant figure out why??

Well it all started in july when i was racing and i when to the rev limit and did not shift nasty feeling thought i killed my engine but later that day i heard a tumbling noise and when i looked my serpentine belt (ac and ps belt) snap in two went got another one and put it in .
Two weeks ago took a high speed turn and it slipped off. Took it to my mechanic to take a look at it and he tighten everything up and said it wont give me any problems he said he checked all the pulleys. Well yesterday driving with my buddy the i lost power steering again ligft the hood and part of the belt was on the crank pulley but it was off in the bottom. The belt shredred of again im pissed what should i do its the third time in two months???

More than likely it's your crank pulley that's either unbalanced/loose or needs to be replaced. Had the same problem with my old GS. The belt would get chwed up every month or so, ended up replacing it and that took care of the problem. Also make sure that the belt is tensioned properly too.

And by the way I believe Newbies can still post in the 420A section.

Trivial nitpick, but you don't have a "serpentine" belt on a DSM. You have a Mult-V belt. Serpentines use both sides to drive accessories.

I already got scolded for the waterpump guess, so my wager's on the harmonic balancer.

Also, inspect for axial play in the PS and A/C pump pulley's, and check for a bent PS bracket.

Ok I checked on it and agree the NT doesn't have the waterpump pulley backwards problem. I agree with Defiant it's most likely the harmonic balancer (aka crank pulley). Here's 2 links to help you determine this:

But it can also be an alignment problem as Locke says so check that out too. Also sight down the length of the belt to see if there is an "offset" problem between pulleys. I've heard of cases where someone had the wrong bracket or washers under it, etc. which caused just a very slight offset which wore down the belt.
