I was just wondering how much power a 2nd gen 7 bolt motor will hold that wheel horse power wise !
About 3 days ago I went to the dyno with a AGP RS49 internal gated I have a stock head , stock bottom end , stock TB , stock intake manifold and at (20 psi) I laid down (330whp) and I was wondering if thats good or what? I have a 97 GS-T it has 72,000 miles on it now and compression is 180 across , and no signs of crank walk !
what I have done below

RS49
Ported ex. manifold
3 inch o2 eliminator down pipe with atmosphere dump
3 inch Thermal R & D
3 inch intake
Front Mount (20x10x3)
Bushur racing upper pipe
Greddy type R bov
Walboro 255
680cc injectors
AFC
B&M FPR
Magnecore 8.5 wires
Turbo X's dual stage
ACT 2600
Findanza Flywheel

let me know thanks!

ok so they have made over 400whp but how long did they last?

I am probably going to put on a 2nd gen ported and polished head with 3 angle valve job
HKS 272 cams
HKS or AEM cam gears
1st gen TB
1st gen Intake manifold
and up grade my Frontmount piping from 2 inch to 2.5

So I hope to push 400whp @ 20psi on pump but we will see

To actually answer his question, you could be making more power at that boost level. I think that you are limited by the 2G head and intake manifold ( switching to a 1G head & manifold could pick up 20-30whp up top ). At 20psi, those are respectable numbers. Give us more info!

Whats your peak timing?
Was a wideband O2 used? And if so, what was you A/F ratio?

You will want to tune for around 11.0-11.8 ratio for good power and safety. Beyond 12.0 ratio, you will want to keep your eyes and ears on whats going on with you engine. Remember its better to tune with more fuel and ignition advance than leaner with less advance. This is assuming you have control over ignition timing.

Get rid of that B&M for starters. It is a fuel pressure riser, only allowing base pressure to rise. I would get the Buschur AFPR. Expensive but highly effective and flows very well ( won't be overrun ).

A DSMlink is what you should really get. Yes its expensive, but with proper tuning ( either done by you or someone who can tune ) you could pick up alot more horsepower. You could ditch all those other mods you have planned and pick up alot more horsepower through better tuning rather than more bolt ons. I believe you are at the point where tuning is a priority for more power. Good luck!

Like Groomz said, get a dsmlink. I have similar mods to you and just recently got a dsmlink. I must say that it is running much better now than it was before with the s-afc. Seems that the 50 trim turbo works well with more boost and fuel and less timming on pump gas.

As far as peak timing I have no clue! Yes I know I should know what it is but I don't sorry.
A/f was at 11.0 I would rather it get a little leaner right around 11.8 would be nice but I only made 3 dyno pulls not a whole hour!
As far as the B&M FPR I will end up getting rid of cause Im actually looking into a areomotive one right now!
Yes I want DSM link ...and I will get it soon !
But thanks for the advice and I will keep it in mind!

Nice numbers, if u do some porting a diff. intake mani, plus the diff tb ull be good to go, i am looking to get the rs49 in the next few days here, how u like hte internal gate. i Have the Rnr o2 elim exhaust aswell,
Justin

I will scan the Dyno and get it on here for you guy's .....my big problem right now is I am not making full boost till a little over 4,000 rpm's and I can not figure out why I ahve fixed all boost leaks ...but how do I like internal wastegate ...honestly I think this turbo should be left external cause I get alot of creep can be set at 20psi and creep to 22psi or be set at 15psi and creep to 20psi I can not figure it out to save my life ! But thanks for saying good numbers 330whp and 290lbs tq is not that bad to not even have DSM link or cams or intake manifold , cam gears ect....thanks alot !
