i have a 99 eclipse gst ,i have a battery relocation in the trunk the problem is after i turn off my car something is still pulling power from the battery , the only thing ican think of is whyle im driving my ignition key gets extreamly hot is there somthin wrong with it? would this be the problem ? also i have a apexi turbo timer installed if that helps?
 
yes i have an after market stereo but iv always had this installed back in 99 never had an issue
 
Did you recently install the turbo timer, my first dsm had the same problem and I have and apexi turbo timer. I never got the issue resolved, but I would check the turbo timer. Maybe uninstall it and see if the problem persists.

thats exactly what i was thinking yes i do have the apexi and it stoped working with the e brake, i just never uninstalled it because i want to know my volts whyle im driving
 
I'm thinking it's something that was installed, like an amp or turbo timer, etc. Some of them are made to work off the accessory wire (on when the car is on), and if they're wired to the 12v wire they'll always be on (even when the car is off).

However, it's really strange that your key gets hot when the car is on. I'd take off the ignition column and feel each wire and see which one is getting hot. My key never warms up at all, and if there's extra heat there may be a problem with the wiring (frayed wire, short circuit), or possibly the ignition itself. If the ignition switch had a problem, it could either be letting some current leak through (draining the battery), or even have an intermittent short that would let current through in spurts. Who knows. But I'd check those wires/circuits first, since you already know there's something wrong there.

im sorry its not the key itself its the left side og the column like where the turbo timer plug goes into ,now i do think that i could possibly be the turbo timer but my starter is wired to it when i did a 6 bolt swap so id have to find another place to wire it up to start the car if i removed it, and that im not sure
