power antenna prob..take a look at this pic

Ok i never thought changing my power antenna would be such a pain. Maybe im just retarded or something but i need help with this. I've gotten the assembly out of the car and taken apart, but i can't get the stupid mast out. On the new antenna there is some sort of retainer that goes around the mast to keep it secured. The red arrow points to the retainer clips. Thats the pasted close up of it with the arrow pointing to it. Is this the same retainer that the other yellow arrow points to in the pic. How the hell do i get the retainer loose so i can get the mast out because ive tried pulling very hard and it doesn't want to budge. Thanks

Yes i found that thread yesterday and it got me to where i am now. But none of those posts really talk about having trouble removing the mast from the antenna. Here is the pic finally.

Did you try pulling while running the antenna motor?

yeah that didn't work, but its all good. I got it out by putting the thing in a vice.
