Toronto,
I've been having this idle problem since I bought the car (95 Talon TSi AWD). I changed the ISC and alternator & checked all vac lines. I also upt in new plugs and wires, that didnt change a thing. The previous owner didnt know jack about this car, do you think cams would cause this kind of idling?

Yeah I took out the battery so Im assuming the ECU was reset. I did move the BISS long ago when I was trying to fix it..do you think I should re-set the BISS?

Throttle Position Sensor [TPS] ? I use a pocketlogger to adjust the TPS until it reads 0%. The Biss screw should either be loosened or tightened to help fine tune the idle. I forget which direction does what. Btw, be gentle, the biss is easy to strip.

I set the BISS today so that it idles at around 800. This is more of a patching up than a true fix. The idle is still lumpy...however it doesnt surge anymore. The vac still reads ~12.

I'm running out of options and patience.

Hey dude I think I may have the solution. I had the same stuff as you and the guys I took it to said my timing was a little off and that the wiring for the ignition might be messed up in the wiring or something. They are gonna tell me the results tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Any updates? I went for my e-tests and failed the idle test. HC limit was 200 my reading was 560. At 2500 rev, it was less than 100. Obviously the car is running rich..I dont know if timing would cause that.

Im thinking it is your timing. Mine was my timing!!!!!!!!! Finally after months of no driving it is a dream. My car idles smooth and pulls harder than ever. Its a miracle. All I have to fix now is my valve cover leak and a small oil leak on the return line and I'll be good to go. Check Your Timing. Have someone who knows what they are doing do the timing and if you need a new timing belt have it done while they are in there. I am no longer running rich, vacuum is at 23, pulls hard, it no shaking, and it was never overheating...it was just my temp gauge. Good luck man and let me know if you get it fixed. :thumb:
