my clutch went out on me so i decided to goahead and get a act clutch/flywheel package
but when it came time to refill the gear oil i could get the side fill plug off because the guy who had the car before me stripped that bolt....so i found a different opening to pour the gear oil...it was on top of the tranny near where the shifter cables are bolted to the tranny..you can see the inside of the tranny from that bolt hole so i poured it throgh there....so i figured it be ok....but since i got everything going..my tranny started to get hard to shift....1st will grind if not eased in...reverse was almost impossible to get into..
sometimes i had to put it in reverse first before car was turned on just to get it in gear..
then one day i was getting on the interstate...and went to put it in 5th and it would go..put it in 4th nope don't work either.....so its been sitting for the past month...i just wanted to know if it was alright for me to put the gear oil through the top like that...also that bolt is called the restrictor ball assembly if it'll help anyone help me.....im going to rebleed
the clutch.....already changed clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, also put new stainless steel clutch line on...what else can i do to get my tranny shifting because it shifted perfect
before put the new clutch in ...please help

And all in one breath.

If it took the full fill, it's probably something else. Having to start the car in gear, I'd say the clutch isn't disengaging. But get the goddamned fill plug out. It's not like it's hard to get to or anything.

This is why you pull the FILL plug FIRST.

yes refilling the transmission is ok throught that hole just don;t try fill filling it from the drain hole cuz thats not a rear entry hole. :shhh:

if you really do not have the mechanical skill to get out that fill plug you can pay mechanic to do it, or you can take a coat hanger unbend it make your own dipstick. measure the distance from the top of the where the bolt you used to fill it, down to the bottom of where the fill plug is, mark that on your homemade dipstick stick it in and see if the oil level is correct. some people swear that you have to be so many millimeters under the fill plug la la la na da da da i have never been that precise with mine and i have have my car at 143mph plenty of times with no problems and i have held it at that speed to. make sure you have atleast v rated tires if you do that. oh ya i fill my my through the fill plug thats whats its there for.

any how not getting into gear especiallcy from a dead stop, sounds to me like use messed up, double check the throw out bearing, clutch fork, maybe your shifter linkage needs adjusting
