Yeah i was wondering if its ok to use the gear oil like walmart sells thats $2.75 a tube in my 5 speed transmison or do i have to use penzoil syncromesh only at $6 a tube ?

Personally i wouldnt put anything in your tranney that isnt recomended by the manufactor....other than syncromesh..

You have to use a GL-4 gear fluid. Anything that says GL-4 and GL-5 on the same bottle is the wrong stuff.

If you feel the well being and functionality of your car that is probably your daily driver, and is responsible for getting you back and forth to school and your job; or your honey wagon that's your only way to pull in chicks because you're too cheap to get them any other way is only worth $2.75 a tube for the Wal Mart special, then by all means, be my guest. However, if you love your car, spend the few extra bucks and get the good stuff. At the least, go to Advance Auto or something and get Valvoline products like aforementioned.

yeah i went ahead and went with the penzoil syncromesh got it for $5 a tube at advance auto parts bought 2 tubes hope it will be enough.

Synchromesh is not GL-4. And if you look at the viscocity it's about half of what's recommended by the manufacturer.
