So My buddy brings me his car to change out the axle due to a busted boot and I had to let the car sit for a week until I had time to work on it. Well when I was ready to finally work on it the car would not start so I check out the fuel and its fine all the way until the injectors, and battery is good so I pulled the ECU and find that one of the black rectangle shaped pieces (6 in a row) on the board looks like it got too hot and burned itself and the area around it, thus wiping out the injector control. So I grab a spare that I have and plug it in and we are good to go, the car runs and drives just fine now, however after letting it sit at idle for a few minutes I start to smell the ecu burning so I pull it out and same thing, but this time its one of the capacitors next to where the small black rectangle things are. Now the car still runs but I have a burnt spot on the ecu and am afraid I will ruin it if I try to plug it in again. So any ideas what is causing this as it seems not to be the ecu's fault since I pulled it out of a running car moments before switching to the car with issues. BTW its a 91 awd talon.

Well turned out the ISC was causing the problems. Put in a new one and everything is good to go. Looks like the ISC was going out so it was overloading the ecu causing it to heat up and burn the board.
