Possible to use a T3/T4 header with the stock T25?

Got some headers that are meant to hook up to a T3/T4 turbo, but I of course (being the poor DSM owner) don't have one of those...

Is there an adapter that would let me use these headers on the stock T25 turbo on my '97 GST?

Yes.. Hahn Race Craft sells an adapter. It allows to bolt a T-3 exh. housing up to a factory manifold. You will just flip it upside down.

Now, for the sake of asking, why don't you just leave the factory manifold on the car until you're financially ready to actually get a real turbo to match the T/3 setup?

ricerrrr, its probably a shiny tubular one too, SS autochrome im guessing. any non ricer knows theres people in the 10s and possibly 9s with just a ported 2g manifold.

who the hell cares, its his car, if he wants a shiney manifold in his engine bay then let him.

he asked a perfectly good question. if you dont have the answer or helpful input then shut the hell up.

if you can get your hands on a t/3 housing then just swith the turbo housings that bolt up to the manifold....i had one but sold it otherwise i woulda told you you coulda got it...sorry pal

You could always buy one of those Turbine housings that takes a mitsubishi turbo cart but has the manifold side to match a T3/T4.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.

never2muchBoost, I'm not sure how to respond to your post, but I fail to see how upgrading the manifold = ricer

I agree. The ricer comment was a bit ###.. Adonis, I definitely would recommend hanging onto the stock manifold as it will support quite a bit of horsepower. Porting on the 2G manifold will work wonders.

i guess im a bad person beacuse i also have one (not a ss auto chrome though) with a t3 on it it looks good it flows good it turns cool colors its super heavy duty its lighter than a stock cast piece but the stock is good too the only reason i changed mine was i wanted a t3 on it and the stock manifold had wicked cracks like you could see light through them so eithere way is good LOL ricers arent that bad (honda people im assuming) i dont blame people that buy hondas they run forever and i bet some of you8 are guilty of the ricer thing too with big fart pipes hanging behind your car (i am) do you need that nooo

Thank you Pj. The header I have was given to me by a friend who got into an accident with his GSX and thought I could integrate it into my engine.

From what I've heard on here from you and other people, I'm going to definitely look into porting the stock manifold.

The reason for the upgrade being that since I opened my exhaust up with wider piping, it feels like the bottleneck is now at the exhaust manifold.

i think your bottleneck is the little snail gizmo right below your manifold. seriously man the manifold flows more than the turbo can handle. yes you can put the t3 setup on your car but i honestly don't think it is going to help you very much. keep the manifold and save up for a turbo that bolts up to it and the supporting mods.

your better off to get a gtr28bb turbo and that will mount right up to your stock manifold and that will make more poneis than your stock t25 will.

You are mistaken. a gtr28bb does not bolt directly to the stock manifold. A bigt28 will.

That's fine - a ported factory manifold would have been sufficient, so what. I know of a guy fabricating a custom belt driven external fuel pump. It's completely overkill. Does that make him a ricer because it's not needed to run 10's? I'd say not.

Just because you don't buy the cheapest parts to achieve your goals doesn't mean you're a ricer. So what if the guy wants to pay a little more for a part that he doesn't need. Don't we all do that? As long as this tubular header performs at least as well as a ported factory manifold, what's the problem? I could see if he was adding a part that was hindering performance in order look cool (like a vented BOV on a factory MAF) but that's not the case here. There are so many things we do to our cars that is overkill and unnecessary, that pointing this stuff out is really irrelevant. Quit casting stones please.
