no smoking at header that i seen, sounded like rushing exhaust (similar to a header on a small block engine) turbo sounded like it was spinning fine, but made no boost. just wondered what anyone thinks it could be. wastegate actuator sticking open? bad wastegate? or cracked exhaust mani. it really didnt smell too hot but then again i could be wrong about things. sorry i had to change this because it was confusing and i wrote it after being awake 19 hrs, didnt really make sense after i read it in a normal state of mind

oh, while driving it around, it didnt sound like turbo was spooling at all, so maybe wastegate is bad or flapper is stuck open...

take the wastegate arm off the flapper were they connect, and try to move the flapper, it either is offset or has broke, might have to remove the o2 housing and inspect it.

also pull on the wastegate arm and see how resistant it is, it should be pretty hard.

ok i guess i will try this tuesday, since i didnt get the car in time before sun went down today...again. is it pretty hard to reach around the heat shield, or to take it off? thanks for the inputs. would love to do this tomorrow, but busy most the day.

take the heat shield off so you can see what your doing

its only a couple of 10mm bolts

^^^what this guy said^^^ if youre manifold dont look cracked. try replacing all gaskets. then wastegate. but ive seen tons of manifolds crack on the bottom. and people never realize it until they take shit all the way off . but if youre manifold IS cracked. i have a 2g one for sale. just got both flanges on it resurfaced haha

how much, is it ported, and where are you? . im eyeballin a FP mani right now, so i hear that is the best for any of the cars for non tubular setups.

nice huh? yeah, im wanting to get the FP race mani, but a little too much for now maybe. i wanted to send it up and get it coated too...but not sure. maybe put it on order and send it there, then get it together? . i need to pull that turbo off anyways and check stuff out, make sure its good. he ordered it from the dealer directly, not a knock off chinabay. stamped with tdo5h right on the housing. just to make sure its good, going to tear it apart this weekend, get that junky manifold off..need to put it in garage first.
