Ok so you are probably thinking your a dumbass for wasting your time porting a smallass 13g but guess what this thing is a little beast!!! Before the porting I was reaching full boost around 3500rpm which was right around 15lbs and it held up pretty good till the wastegate actuator went bad and it didn't close the flapper all the way so I took it off and that's when I was like hell I'll do a little porting and port the 2g manny while im at it. Well it took me right around 4-5hrs to do everything and I Trimmed down the spot where the flapper is at cause fully it opened about 60% until it hit the metal part which I fixed and now it opens about 80% of the way. Other than that I did the port and I noticed a HUGE difference now! I reach full boost (16lbs) at right around 2900rpms which is f'en sick. I also ran off open wg for one pull and got 22lbs from it LOL. But now it's just at 15lbs for now but this little turbo surprised me. It is holding up amazing to the boost with ZERO shaftplay. I would recommend everyone to port it if they have nothing better to do. ROFL . Anyone else have any experience with porting a 13g or little t-25?

Here is the link I used.

13G

You could've started out with a TD04HL 15G turbine housing which I believe is a 6cm2 and saved yourself lots of grinding versus porting the 13G's 5cm2 housing; then again another housing costs money and your labor is free.

That 20G I was trying to get for you went way too high, by the way....back to the ol' drawing board!

Haha well I'm in no hurry for that little project. It's not like my housing is going anywhere. Right now I am looking for an safc 2 so I can adjust the fuel trims a bit since my car is running really lean. Don't worry I'm not abusing it without somewhat of a tune I only drove it twice. But i'm trying to decide if I should get a wideband before the safc 2 or what?

Well the AFC will help you to add a little fuel if your tune is little lean, and the Wideband won't really do anything but tell you how lean you are. If I had to buy one first it would be the AFC, but you'll be tuning blind until you get the Wideband (unless you have a logger) so you'll eventually need both.

Well i have a logger but it doesn't work for some reason =(. I have tried everything to make it work. I got the 409.1 cable from ebay and I was trying to use like mhiscan with it cause that is what everyone uses with that cable and it doesn't pick up signal for some reason. I'm not sure what I can be doing wrong......

pictures!?!?! LOL that seems kinda slow spool though?

my b16g wuld hit 20psi at 3400rpm's

Ahhhh shit I didn't take pics!!!!! Trust me it was nothing special though LOL. The pics of the porting job were all soothed out and it was like a perfect job I was like F it after 4hs of work haha. I'm not saying did some boot leg shit I just didn't do the best job I coulda did but it wasn't that bad. Like the articles on porting say how it's a pain in the ass and stuff but this was my 1st time doing a porting job and it was easy as hell. But full boost at 2900rpms is considered slow for spooling? I know it's a small turbo and all but I thought it was pretty decent.

well 2900 is not bad LOL, hy HX35 sees 20psi at 3800-3900 now

but i would figure that a small turbo like that should spool faster, i never seen a 13g s i dont really know howsmall it is, i was just stating that my old B16g woudl hit 20 at 3400

idk LOL

Lol basically the 13g is smaller than a 14b so it is basically babyweight. I just didn't expect for it to boost so much. I guess we'll have to see how long it holds up when I put my safc on ad tune it.....

The 13g on my brothers aut would spool about the same as my 14b did with my FWD 5speed. The auto has alot to do with spool. But still he saw full boost with no porting where you're seeing it now. Something is up. . .

Hmm maybe I have some boost leaks? I will check it out later today and see if there are any. I did a BLT but that was about 3 weeks ago before I took it apart so i'll see and get back to you guys with result.....

Your spool isn't bad now. About what I would expect for a 13g stock stall and what you have. Did you by chance fix a preturbo exhaust leak? Because, I didn't see any faster spool remiving my seal ring and then porting my 14b turbine housing back in the day. Making the entrance bigger isn't going to make the turbine housing have a smaller "nozzle" to increase spool speed. And a more open collector slows the velocity. I DID see a difference porting the 7cm^2 turbine housing on my small 16g. But that was because I didn't have a seal ring and ther's that step out then step in that kills flow.

It's also possible that your wastegate actuator was acting up long before it finally broke completely.

Fixed a little boot leak I had but it didn't make really any difference. I got full boost at 2700 this time though.....

The 13g's just say td04hl on the compressor housing, they only have a td04 turbine. I, and many people have taken the dsm 13g's and slid the chra into the 3000gt td04 turbine housings for twin 13g's. They spike over 26 psi and hold about 18psi on a 3 liter.
