As you may know forced performance is having a special on big 16g turbos for $449. Is it worth the extra $100 or so to go with a evo 3 16g? I will definitly port the housing as much as possible. i have heard that you can do much more port work to a 16g compared to a evo 3. Any input is appreciated.:talon:

Looks like a pretty decent deal. The only thing (from a consumer's POV) that I would be skeptical of is that there are no options for the turbocharger. That is to say, there is no option for porting, WG flapper upgrades, and the like.

However, from my personal standpoint, I could care less about these options.

Personally, I wouldn't pay for the J-pipe, and I wouldn't pay for an upgraded WG flapper, or a ported turbine, or a "GT" exhaust manifold (which is really a ported EVOIII manifold). Instead, I would like the choice of which manifold I desire, and if I want it ported or not, and if I wanted an external WG flange mounted on it or not. Yes, I am well aware that SBR offers such an option, but I would like to see other vendors take more initiative. Additionally, I would like to see external WGs offered in a purchase package.

Alas, I will have to wait and beg the other vendors to get up off their rumps and offer packages that get the DSM community excited.

i wasnt to concerned with the porting option or wastegate flapper option. i typically do all of the portwork myself anyway. i figure i can just sell the exaust manifold or sell my current one. i did buy the kit. i will keep you updated.
