For the intake ports I was told to make the ports ruff so that the fuel and air mix. I assume the the exhaust ports can be mirror looking and very smooth. Is it just an opinion to make the intake ports slightly rough? Does anyone have good pictures how the middle crease in the ports are supposed to look when narrow(intake and exhaust)?

depends on what you want most will say to just remove the casting marks (what I did) and use around 120 to 240 grit on it. The intake use 80 grit for the final surface finish.

ok. so far, I have port matched the intake, narrowed the runners on both exhaust and intake, and port matched the exhaust. But I realize that when I look at the exhaust it just looks like I could port more and make a straighter flow. It also looks like a made a straighter flow on a few areas not realizing it at the time.

i do both sides with 60 grit finishes (sometimes 80 on the exhaust side) and 120 in the combo cahambers.. the only real advantage of making the exhaust side mirror smooth is to slow the soot/ carbon build up. heres a pic of a 1g's ports that i did...........

hmmmm. those are some good pictures. I can tell already that I can do more porting on the runners for the exhaust. I am still not sure about the sides of the port. Did you just kind of go with the flow? I port matched my exhaust and it just look likes it doesnt flow right. You sure did a crap load of porting in the valve guide area on the exhaust.
