I need suggestions on how to service my automatic transmission.
Car History
I bought the car for $800 with a bad tranny. Car would not move in any gear but reverse. I dropped the pan and replaced the filter and gasket. The car worked great, but overdrive didn't work at all it acted like neutral. About 100 miles later the car threw a CEL for P1750 transmission control malfunction, and then would only shift from 2-3 if i was WOT. It would quickly drop back into 2nd. 1-2 still works well. I dropped the pan again and pulled the valve body off, shift control solenoid B was clogged and very dirty. The filter and fluid had less than 100 miles on it, but had a thin layer of build up. I cleaned everything and installed a new filter. Car worked great for about 20 miles, then threw the CEL again.
I am assuming it is again clogged. The car shifted wonderfully before it clogged again. 1-2-3 shifts were smooth and quick. No jumping or clunking into reverse. I am assuming solenoid B is the 2-3 solenoid, and my O/D end clutch is burnt up. Im guessing the residue is a mix of end clutch and 4 years of sitting before i got it.
Do you think I should do a transmission flush, or just buy a new transmission?
2 of the solenoids checked out at 19 OHMs and 2 were at 3 OHMs. I have a second set of solenoids that are measuring 21 and 6 OHM's. Is this within spec?
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
